Notify Node
Send an in-app or Slack notification from an automation
Last updated 8 Oct 2026
The Notify node sends a notification — in-app or to Slack — when automation execution reaches it. It passes its input records through unchanged, so it can sit mid-automation as a checkpoint alert.
When to Use
Use Notify to alert people about automation progress — for example, posting to Slack when an enrichment run completes, or sending an in-app notification when an AI agent finishes research.
Configuration
| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
channel | in_app | slack | Delivery channel (default: in_app) |
titleTemplate | string | Notification title. Supports {{field}} syntax. Required |
bodyTemplate | string | Notification body. Supports {{field}} syntax. Required |
recipientUserId | string | Optional user ID to notify; defaults to the automation owner |
sendPerRow | boolean | If true, send one notification per input row (default: false) |
urgency | low | normal | high | Notification priority (default: normal) |
Example
Send a summary in-app notification when a run finishes:
channel: in_app
titleTemplate: "Automation complete"
bodyTemplate: "Enrichment finished. {{rowCount}} records processed."
urgency: normal
Notes
- Notify does not block execution — it sends, then passes records through. Each row gains
_notify_successand_notify_idstatus columns. - By default the node sends a single summary notification;
{{rowCount}}and the last row's fields are available in the templates. - With
sendPerRow: true, one notification is sent per row, capped at 100 per execution; above the cap it falls back to a single summary notification. - The
in_appchannel records a system activity; theslackchannel routes through the configured notification dispatcher.
