Group Node
Visually group child nodes and combine their outputs with AND, OR, or SEQUENCE logic
Last updated 24 Jun 2026
The Group node is a visual container that holds child nodes and, when it exposes an output, combines their results using one of three evaluation modes: AND (intersection), OR (union), or SEQUENCE (terminal output). It is most commonly used to combine geographic audience branches built with Audience Builder.
When to Use
Use Group to organize a set of related nodes into one block and, optionally, to merge the outputs of the source nodes inside it — for example, intersecting two audience definitions so only areas matching both are kept.
Configuration
| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
evaluationMode | AND | OR | SEQUENCE | How the group's child outputs are combined |
hasOutputHandle | boolean | Whether the group exposes a combined output to downstream nodes (default: false) |
Modes
AND (Intersection): emits only the areas present in all of the group's source-node outputs, matched by area_code.
OR (Union): emits the union of the group's source-node outputs, deduplicated by area_code.
SEQUENCE: emits the output of the terminal (last) node in the group's internal sequence; no matching is performed.
Example
Intersect two audience branches so only areas in both are emitted:
evaluationMode: AND
hasOutputHandle: true
Notes
- The group combines the outputs of the source nodes inside it; it is a container, not a multi-input join node.
- AND and OR modes match on the
area_codecolumn, so they are designed for geographic audience records (such as Audience Builder output). - A group only feeds downstream nodes when
hasOutputHandleistrue; otherwise it is purely organizational. - To join two arbitrary data streams on a shared key, use Lookup Join instead.
